A SOUTHAMPTON secondary school held its own version of TV favourite It’s A Knockout.

St George’s Catholic College in Swaythling hosted Year 6 pupils from seven different Roman Catholic primary schools from across the region.

The schools that took part were Springhill, St Patrick’s, St Peter’s, Holy Family, St Swithun Wells, St Anthony’s and St Jude’s.

Games during the day included giant obstacle courses and inflatables, with prefects from St George and St Anne’s Catholic School in Southampton supporting the activities and organising the various teams.

Games were 15 minutes long with points awarded for each and added up at the end of the day.

The event took place to coincide with the school’s transition programme, which aims to help pupils with the move from primary to secondary school.

The day was sponsored by the Step into Success team from Southampton Solent University, which provided 800 bottles of water in the summer sun and a £2,000 contribution towards transport costs.
