A major supermarket chain has withdrawn two types of salads because it contains a food bug.
Tesco, which has stores throughout the county and the rest of the UK, is recalling its 160g Chicken Salad and the 315g Chicken, Broccoli, Cashew and Almond Salad.
The two contain Campylobacter, which is usually found in raw meat and causes almost 300,000 cases of food poisoning each year.
Symptoms, which can include diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, can last for up to a week.
Tesco said: “We have been made aware by our supplier that they have detected Campylobacter in a small number of products.
“Tesco is recalling the affected products from customers as a precaution.”
The Food Standards Agency said: “The usual symptoms caused by Campylobacter are fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.”
