POLICE are investigating after a couple "grabbed" the hand of a three-year-old girl.
A mother says she was walking through woodland with her two children yesterday when she was approached by a man and a woman.
Writing on social media she said the couple grabbed her daughter's hand and "tried to walk her".
The mum added: "When confronted, the woman said my little girl was hers."
A police spokesman said: "We are aware of the incident.
"It was reported to us that at around 9.30am yesterday. A 21-year-old woman was walking through the Fleming Park area of Eastleigh with her daughter when a man and a woman started holding hands with her daughter.
"This is not being treated as an attempted abduction at this time, just as a suspicious incident.
"There is no suggestion at present that they tried to take or abduct her.
"Anyone who saw what happened should contact police on 101 quoting 44170270152."
