AN ARSON investigation has been launched after a blaze broke out in a Hampshire home.

Emergency services rushed to Kenwood Road, Portchester, after being called at about 10.30am this morning.

Crews from Fareham, Cosham, Portchester and Southsea are at the scene and Hampshire Fire and Rescue says the fire is in the first floor of a house.

Police have arrested two men and a woman on suspicion of arson as part of their investigation.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "We were called at 10.42am to reports of a fire at a residential address on Kenwood Road, Portchester.

"Officers are currently working with the fire service at the scene.

"A 43-year-old man, a 44-year-old man, and a 55-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of arson and remain in custody at this time.

"The incident is on-going.

"It is not known if anyone has been injured in the incident."

A spokesman for Fareham Borough Council said: "The council is aware there has been a fire at 20 Kenwood Road in Portchester and Hampshire Fire & Rescue were called to the scene.

"Council officers are now putting plans in place to find alternative accommodation for any families who are now unable to remain in their homes."
