JAMES Phillips is eager to find another job in non-League football following a parting of the ways with Totton & Eling.

The 25-year-old was keen to stress that it was not his choice to walk away from Millers Park after a year in charge.

Having led the club to a safe 15th-placed in Sydenhams One, he wanted to build on that this season, but it was not to be.

His goal now is to put that disappointment behind him and get straight back into football, either as a manager or coach.

For one so young, Phillips has already packed a lot of experience into his short career.

Having spent the best part of a season managing Romsey Town, he went on to coach under James Taylor at Team Solent for a year-and-a-half before linking up with the Millers last summer.

Phillips said: “I’m excited for a new challenge.

“I’m available and up for whatever comes next.

“My main skill set is coaching – that’s why Romsey and Totton & Eling got me in in the first place.

“But I’ve also really enjoyed being a being a manager, so I’m open to anything on the coaching or management side of things.

“I’m Southampton-based and it would be great to find another Wessex League club.

“I feel I can work at that level and it would be good to stay there.”
