A WINCHESTER supermarket is seeking more staff.

Aldi is recruiting around 15 positions for its store on Burnett Close in Weeke as a result of its continued popularity.

The store is looking to hire up to 15 store assistants and one apprentice in the coming weeks.

Aldi says it offers better pay than most other British supermarkets with a minimum rate of £8.53 per hour regardless of age.

Candidates with strong numerical skills are being targeted for Aldi’s Store Assistant positions, to carry out responsibilities such as accurate and efficient till operation, stock management and merchandising.

John Richardson, Aldi regional managing director, said: “We’ve recognised in recent weeks greater footfall in our Winchester store, which has created a significant number of additional employment opportunities for people in the local area. We would encourage anyone looking for a rewarding career with a growing retailer to apply via our recruitment website.

“We are looking to attract applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.”
