Culture on show at Southampton City Art Gallery
HUNDREDS flocked to Southampton’s City Art Gallery for an exhibition of culture and performances.
Bringing together the traditions of Southern India and the Caribbean to Hampshire, Saturday’s event was part of a three-month tour by the Isle of Wight firm The New Carnival Company.
A variety of costumes were on display visitors had the chance to make their own headdresses.
It was part of a programme of carnival-related events, which kicked off in the city in May There was Caribbean day held in June and there will be India and Carnival Day at the gallery next weekend.
