Halton Council says it has no plans to close any Halton leisure centres
SPECULATION over the future of Kingsway Leisure Centre in Widnes has been scotched by the council.
Residents raised concern on social media amid fears that the leisure centre on Kingsway was facing closure.
A Halton Council spokesperson said today: “The rumours are without foundation – there is no proposal to close any of the leisure centres.
“We are always exploring new ways of improving leisure provision and Kingsway is part of our Active Halton service which uses sport and physical activity to help improve people’s quality of life, both physically and mentally.”
The council also runs Brookvale Leisure Centre in Runcorn and Runcorn Swimming Pool.
