POLICE are trying to identify the owners of jewellery thought to have stolen during a spate of raids across Hampshire and Dorset.

The break-ins have all been committed since December last year but detectives say the jewellery has only recently been recovered.

Many of the break-ins occurred in the New Forest although police have yet to say exactly where.

A police spokesman said: "We have shared images of the jewellery on our Flikr account 'Is this yours?' in the hope we can reunite the items with their rightful owners."

Anyone who recognises the items should call 101 and ask for Police Staff Investigator Helen Mills at Southampton Central Police Station.
