IT WAS a practically perfect way to celebrate one of Disney’s best-known characters.
Pensioners living four Hampshire care homes got together “in a most delightful way” to enjoy a Mary Poppins-themed garden party complete with acting and music.
More than 100 guests enjoyed a singing, dancing and costume spectacular at Colten Care’s Woodpeckers home in Brockenhurst.
The get-together aimed to continue the spirit of this year’s Lymington Carnival at which a 70-strong Team Colten group led the parade with a Mary Poppins-themes float.
Joining the residents at Woodpeckers were groups from three Colten Care homes in nearby Lymington - Belmore Lodge, Court Lodge and Linden House.
Guests also included members of Lymington Lions Club, organisers of the carnival.
