A PEDESTRIAN had to undergo surgery after being hit by a car which failed to stop outside a Winchester hospital.
The 27-year-old woman sustained a broken ankle in the collision at around 7:20pm on Thursday (August 10) outside the accommodation blocks of the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Queens Road.
Now police have launched an appeal for information into the crash after the driver of the black hatch-style car failed to stop at the scene, and instead continued along Queens Road.
PC John Goddard said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and speak to us. I would also like to appeal directly to the driver of the vehicle to make contact with us.”
Anyone who has any information about the collision should contact police on 101 quoting reference 44170310858, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
