SHE is the face which helped make reality television show Made in Chelsea a huge success.

And now for star Millie Mackintosh, the fashion and lifestyle entrepreneur, will get the opportunity to open up Britain’s biggest boat show.

Organisers have confirmed that Millie, who rose to fame in the hit programme about wealthy young socialites in 2011, will open this year’s TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show, kicking off proceedings at Mayflower Park on Friday, September 15.

It comes just a month after Millie, once married to British rap-star Professor Green, announced her engagement to Made in Chelsea co-star Hugo Taylor.

The 28-year-old, whose great-grandfather invented Quality Street and Toffee Crisp, said: “I’m thrilled to be opening this year’s TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show.

“I’m really looking forward to spending some time at the event, soaking up the atmosphere and exploring some of the beautiful boats that shall be on display.”

The Southampton Boat Show, which was opened last year by actress Michelle Keegan, boasts Europe’s largest purpose-built marina and will feature hundreds of stunning boats for visitors to hop on and off.

Across the 10-day event, the likes of Gemma Hunt, known for her role of CBeebies’ favourite ‘Swashbuckle’ will amuse the crowds, while visitors can also enjoy boat trips, stand-up paddleboarding, dinghy sailing and kayak experiences.

Murray Ellis, chief officer of Boat Shows at British Marine, which helps run the event, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Millie to the Show this year. Attracting visitors from the UK and overseas from those new to boating to our stalwart experts, this year’s show offers a fantastic day out for friends and family.

“There is a host of new attractions on offer for 2017, setting this global-leading event on course for another fantastic year.”
