A SOUTHAMPTON man died after falling and hitting his head while trying to get out of bed.
Kenneth John Moore, a retired engineer, died surrounded by his family at Southampton General Hospital.
The coroners court heard how Mr Moore, 87, stumbled and fell on the morning of May 7, 2017.
His wife heard him call out and then called an ambulance after she discovered him on the floor of their bedroom in Rownhams Road, Southampton.
As paramedics moved Mr Moore he suffered a major bleed, passed out and never regained conciousness.
The inquest heard that a CT scan later revealed that Mr Moore had suffered a bleed on the brain due to complications arising from medication prescribed for heart problems.
Mr Moore could not walk un-aided and had recently been diagnosed with early stage vascular dementia.
Central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short recorded a verdict of accidental death.
