A RAPE investigation has been launched after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in a wooded area.
The victim, who is in her 20s, said she was attacked near a makeshift shelter south of the railway line at Hinton Admiral Train Station.
Police say the incident happened at about 4pm on Monday, August 14, and a 30-year-old man from the New Milton area has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Detective Sergeant Leo Glendon, of Bournemouth CID, said: "Our specially-trained officers are supporting the victim following the report to police.
"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious to please contact Dorset Police."
