IT’S a quest to find Hampshire’s true foodies - and you’re invited to take part.

Shoppers at Eastleigh’s Swan Centre are being invited to take on the 2017 Taste Test Challenge and see if they can score top marks from a range of food.

The participants will be asked to try out dishes from some of the centre’s most popular places to eat, with the winner bagging a luxury hamper.

It starts on Saturday, when managers will be looking for Eastleigh’s ‘poshest palate.’

With McDonald’s offering smoothies, chefs at Harvester their range of sauces to try and fool participants, Frankie and Benny’s foxing pizza lovers with their recipes and Chimichangas putting out a range of starters there’s something for every fast food expert while Cream’s Cafe will have their range of waffles for people to try.

“A lot of our shops, stores and cafes have new foods and recipes which we are keen to introduce to the public,” says Daniel Kitchen, Centre Manager.

“The Taste Test Challenge is a great way for shoppers to discover these new delights and at the same time, pit their palates in a fun competition.

We have a fantastic range of food retailers in the Centre, and an event like this really helps showcase the great food that they have to offer.”

PR specialist Sam Woodbury added: “We just want to get more people into the centre, and show them all the amazing options on offer. I think people forget sometimes how much there is going on at the Swan Centre - and there’s the cinema as well.”

“And now we’ve got Westquay as a competitor we want to remind people of all the goodies on their doorstep.”

The event takes place on August 19 from 11-3pm.
