A MAN was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash shut a Hampshire motorway yesterday.
Police were called to the A31 westbound at Minstead at around 1.43am, amid reports a Peugeot 106 was involved in a single vehicle collision.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Farlington, exited the vehicle and continued walking before he was involved in a collision with an Audi A3 moments later.
He suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Nobody else is believed to have been hurt in the incident.
As a result of the incident, emergency services closed the M27 from Junction 2 westbound to the A338 at Ringwood.
The road was closed for approximately four hours. Police confirmed enquiries are on-going.
