POLICE have arrested a man following an incident at a Southampton Nightclub that left a 30-year-old man with serious injuries.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the incident outside Buddha Lounge in Bedford Place, Southampton shortly before 2am on Sunday, August 20.

The 30-year-old man from Croydon was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he is currently critically ill with a head injury.

Detectives are also appealing who in the Bedford Place area around this time on Sunday morning who may have witnessed what happened.

Detective Inspector Pete Boakes from the Western Investigation Team said: “We would specifically like to speak with anyone who may have footage of the incident on their phone.

“This area was very busy when the incident occurred and we hope someone may have either purposefully or inadvertently captured footage of the incident.

“If you were in the Winchester Street area or outside any of the establishments including Buddha Lounge at this time, please get in contact and assist us with this investigation.”
