A HAMPSHIRE man has avoided jailed after attacking a police officer at Southampton Central railway station.
Thomas Gray admitted assaulting a constable at the station, as well as assaulting a man on a train between Southampton and Bournemouth's stations.
The 51-year-old, of Wellington Terrace, Basingstoke, was handed an eight-week prison sentence at Southampton Magistrates' Court, suspended for 12 months.
Gray was also fined £160 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, plus £85 costs, by magistrates.
