AN insight into the new £21 million railway technology innovation hub and training centre will be given at a fascinating talk.
Mike Hulme, managing director of trains and modernisation at Alstom UK is the guest speaker at a meeting of Widnes SciBar on Wednesday.
Alstom opened the new facility in Halebank in July and has started work on its first £23.8 million project to re-paint the Pendolino fleet of Virgin trains on the west coast main line.
Bob Roach, organiser of the SciBar said: “As part of our monthly talks about science and technology, the Friends of Catalyst will be very pleased to welcome Mike and to hear about the work now being done and about the possibilities for the future.’
The SciBar meets at 7.30pm on September 6 at the Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane, Widnes and is open to anyone interested in this particular topic or in hearing about science and technology. Admission is £2.
