TWIN sisters have lost their pig tails to help young cancer survivors.

Milly and Maddie Morris, from Widnes, donated 13 inches of their hair to make real wigs for children who lose their hair through chemotherapy treatment.

The seven-year-old Cronton CE Primary School pupils came up with idea themselves.

Dad Andy, of Elworth Avenue, said: “They were watching a television programme about children who had cancer and found out about the Little Princess Trust which creates wigs from real hair.

“They both wanted to help.”

The girls, who have two sisters and four brothers, also raised £435 in sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“It just snowballed,” said Andy, who set up a justgiving page with his wife Vicky. “They only expected to raise £100.”

The sisters are not identical twins have their own unique characters.

Maddie is taller and is supports Everton while Milly is a Liverpool fan.

“They both love dressing up, drama and singing,” added Andy. “They were excited going back to school with a new hair cut.

“It makes them look very different. They are enjoying playing with small plaits and curling their hair under and out.

“We are very proud of them.”
