ZACH Glasspool bagged an FA Vase hat-trick for Andover Town – yet still ended up on the losing side.

Horndean emerged 4-3 extra-time winners in an all-Sydenhams Premier thriller at Five Heads Park.

Andover led 2-0 at the interval and reclaimed the lead 3-2 in extra-time.

But Horndean just wouldn’t let it lie and Lee Tigwell converted a penalty with the final kick of the game after Joe Wright had been adjudged to have upended Harry Jackson.

Miles Everett and Jack Maloney had scored second-half goals for the Deans with Jackson making it 3-3.

Horndean now face a second qualifying round trip to Knaphill of the Combined Counties Premier.

*HAMBLE Club celebrated their first ever FA Vase appearance with a 3-1 win over Bemerton Heath in the first qualifying round.

Nathan Lynch (2) and Liam Crook booked the merry Monks another all-Wessex Premier clash at home to Petersfield Town on September 23.

Petersfield kept their first clean sheet in 71 games in beating Corsham Town 1-0 at Love Lane – Luke Kendall’s first-half penalty the deciding factor.

*BAFFINS Milton Rovers also launched their maiden Vase voyage on a positive note. They wiped out a first-half deficit to triumph 3-1 at Cowes Sports through Tyler Moret, Blu Boam and Sam Willett. Next up is a visit from Selsey.

There was better news for Cowes’ neighbours Newport IW who are through to host Alresford Town in the second qualifying round.

Port overcame Fleet Spurs 5-2 thanks to Emerson Tattersall (3) and Charlie Urry (2).

Jack Odam plundered an 87th-minute winner for Lymington Town in a 2-1 success at Guildford City.

Sam House was also on target for the New Forest side who now face an all-Wessex Premier assignment at Hamworthy United.

Hamworthy trailed 2-0 to Division One underdogs AFC Stoneham after 55 minutes, stung by goals from Will Harris and Tom Hogan, but surged back for a 5-2 win.

*HYTHE & Dibden are Bashley-bound in the FA Vase second qualifying round on Saturday week (September 23).

They booked their ticket with an eventful 4-3 home win over ten-man Bagshot.

From leading 1-0 through Matt Smith, Hythe were pegged back by a penalty before Bagshot lost a man to two bookings.

The ten-strong visitors twice edged ahead, but Ben Slade and Jack Attrill levelled before Lewis Fay plundered H&D’s stoppage-time winner.

*ROMSEY Town emerged 3-2 victors at AFC Aldersmaston courtesy of Liam Magee and two-goal Pearce Farren. It earns them a Bypass Ground showdown with Bournemouth Poppies.

Fellow Division One outfit Fawley AFC banished their bottom-of-the-table blues with a morale-boosting 2-1 Vase win at Laverstock & Ford.

The Oilers fell behind early, but levelled through a Callum Tanner penalty after Mark Lilley had been brought down.

It was Tanner who bagged the last-gasp winner following determined play by substitute Mitch Hunt. Fawley now travel to Swanage Town & Herston.
