RETAIL giant Lidl is the latest employer to sign up to take part in the Daily Echo Job Fair which takes place at Southampton’s O2 Guildhall today.

In November the German company opened its regional distribution centre in Southampton, which services 54 stores in the area.

Lidl has also just received planning permission for a new store in Hythe and has plans for a larger shop in Shirley.

The company’s regional recruiter Martyn Crutchley said Lidl was on the lookout for customer assistants, warehouse operatives, and a an assistant store manager.

The job fair features around 30 companies and organisations offering information on job vacancies and training opportunities.

They will include Hampshire County Council, Apex Prime Care, Autism Hampshire, Active Assistance Group, Carewatch, First Bus Hampshire, Learn Direct, Peter Symonds Adult & Higher Education Division, and Vitacress.

The event runs from 10am to 3pm and is free to attend.
