A TEENAGER was left unconscious after a serious early morning attack.
Between 3am and 4am on September 9, the 19 year old victim stood at a taxi rank near Café Parfait, in Above Bar Street, with a friend when he was approached by a group of unknown men.
It was reported that one of the men head-butted the victim, leaving him unconscious.
During the attack, the victim suffered a chipped tooth and a broken nose before he later received treatment at Southampton General Hospital.
Jen Jerome, from Hampshire Constabulary’s Force Resolution Centre, said: “This is a serious assault, following which the victim required hospital treatment including stitches to his lip.
“This area of Above Bar Street is frequented with taxis and club goers at this time of the morning, so there may have been witnesses who saw what happened.
“We understand this was more than a week ago, but if you recall seeing an incident of this nature then please get in touch.
“In addition, if you know who may have been responsible for this alleged assault then please call us.”
