WOMEN ignored the persistent drizzle and donned their finest outfits for one of the highlights of the boat show – Ladies’ Day.

But the star of the show was reality TV’s Amber Davies, winner of Love Island, who was shipped in for a special photo call – although the squally showers stopped her from going out on a rib.

But the TV star said she was “thrilled” to be at the show _ and made the most of the champagne at the Moet bar. She said: “I used to work on the Aida ships around the Caribbean so I’m used to the boating lifestyle. I love it.”

Charity ambassador Sherry Claridge organised the fourth annual champagne three-course meal at Town Quay’s Kuti’s Royal Pier restaurant in aid of children’s charity Nourish the Children.

And she brought her own special guest – runner-up in this year’s Miss Great Britain, Francesca Miles.

The winner of the Miss Central London category said she was “delighted” to be at the boat show – and it was her first proper visit to Southampton.

She said: “I love yachts and being on the sea – I’ve definitely got my sea legs.”

Also taking to the luxury lifestyle was Southampton mayor’s consort Beryl Harris, who was more than happy to climb aboard a jetski.
