FOLLAND Sports have launched the hunt for a new manager after accepting the resignations of Bjay Green and his right-hand man Richard Elmes.
The pair quit the club after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at home to East Cowes Vics which leaves the Planemakers floundering rock bottom of Sydenhams Division One with just one point from their opening seven league games.
Green had been in charge for the best part of a year and led the Hamble outfit to a 17th-placed finish under difficult circumstances last season.
A Follands statement confirmed: “The board of Folland Sports FC have accepted the resignation of first-team manager Bjay Green and his assistant Richard Elmes.
“Their resignations followed immediately after the club’s latest defeat, being a 3-0 reverse to East Cowes Victoria on Saturday.”
Chairman Roy Kingdon added: “I would like to thank Bjay and Richard for all their hard work over the last year.
“Despite their best efforts, results have been extremely poor and the club has accepted their resignations.
“The club is now keen to recruit an experienced manager to replace them.”
Applications for the vacant position should be sent to Kingdon at royzeemush637@gmail.com.
Follands – home to 13th-placed Hythe & Dibden this Saturday - were sunk by goals from Jordan Browne, Jimmi Burton and Ji Nash for East Cowes.
