A GROUP of travellers who are refusing to leave a busy car park after pitching up more than two weeks ago are due to appear in court next week.
Winchester City Council had served notice on the group, who are in the city’s South Park and Ride, days after they arrived, but they ignored the order to leave and are still occupying the site.
A Winchester City Council spokesperson said: “The travellers are still at the South Winchester Park and Ride. They are due to appear in [Winchester County Court] on October 3.”
When the group moved into the park and ride site on September 12, it marked the second time in just over two months that travellers had occupied the car park.
