RAIL passengers faced major delays yesterday after a person was hit by a train on a major Hampshire railway line.
Trains were unable to run between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth stations after the incident, which occurred shortly after 9.20am.
Emergency services were called to reports of a person being hit by train on the line between the two stations, resulting in the line being blocked until around 11.50am, with delays continuing until around 1pm.
The person's condition is not yet known.
South Western Railway put replacement buses on for passengers between Southampton Central and Bournemouth, however frustrated passengers took to social media to share images of long queues.
