Major delays after two lanes of M27 closed
DRIVERS are facing major delays on the M27 near Southampton this morning.
Two lanes are closed and traffic is queuing on the eastbound carriageway between junction 8, Bursledon, and junction 9, Whiteley, due to a broken down car.
Lanes two and three are closed, while the car, which is stuck on the road with a gearbox problem, is recovered.
Tailbacks of around three miles were reported at the height of the traffic, with drivers facing delays of around 30 minutes.
UPDATE: 11am: All lanes now re-open and the broken down vehicle has been cleared. Still delays of around 30 minutes while the traffic disperses.
