BY POPULAR demand, The Big Green Event Expo, with solutions for greener and more energy and waste efficient homes and businesses, will open its doors to the public for the first time this year.

The event, which takes place on Thursday between 9.30am and 4.30pm at the Hilton Ageas Bowl, will feature everything from low energy lighting and design, food waste composting, and renewable energy to natural pet supplies.

There will be examples of electric and hybrid cars, mopeds and push bikes. There is also an opportunity to try an electric bike for yourself or take to the road in an electric car.

A key component of this environmental and facilities management expo is its electric and hybrid transportation arena.

This year it will feature the latest solutions from Tesla, Ford, Hyundai, NIssan and Volkswagen – as well as the latest electric bikes, motorbikes and mopeds.

Visitors will be able to test drive the Tesla Model S and Model X and the latest electric bikes.

The Expo will also feature the conversion of a Venice Water Taxi, that has been expertly converted to hybrid electric by Southampton based advanced propulsion specialists, REAP Systems Limited.

As well as charging solutions and many other smart solutions for businesses and homes.

Expo director, Lynda Daniels, pictured,of Dorset based Southern Sustainability Partnership: ”This year we will cater for both businesses and the public, as both are looking for more efficient solutions and money-saving alternatives.

“There is also an interest in what all the fuss is about when it comes to electric and hybrid vehicles.”

The exhibition will also feature free keynote speaker sessions, such as the Ellen MacArthur Foundation talking about a Circular Economy, the Body Shop and World Land Trust on their global bio bridges project.
