A 62-YEAR-OLD man died after being struck by a train at Hinton Admiral station.

Phillip James Perkins, an administration assistant, was killed after the collision on Sunday, October 1, an inquest heard.

Coroner Rachael Griffin was told a post mortem examination revealed Mr Perkins, who lived at Avenue Road in Christchurch, Dorset, died of multiple injuries following the impact.

Mr Perkins was formally identified by a representative from the British Transport Police using fingerprint evidence.

The inquest heard Mr Perkins was married but is now a widower.

Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The inquest was adjourned for further inquiries and will resume on May 21 next year.
