A SOUTHAMPTON couple are “devastated” after not receiving their wedding video seventeen months after the event.

Stuart and Mariana Powell from Archer’s Road paid Sirius Cinematography £1,500 to film their wedding day but say they are “absolutely heartbroken” after being let down 15 times by videographers Shani Clarke and Kristiina Meister.

The couple, who wed in a “grand” ceremony at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset say they have been left even more distraught after Mariana’s uncle was shot dead just months after the wedding - and never got to see the video.

Mariana, 29, who is from the US but has family in Mexico, said: “He was like a father to me.

“He was waiting to see the video. I only had 12 of my family members here for the wedding because most of them couldn’t afford to come.

“We wanted to show them all the video at Christmas when we went over there but couldn’t because we hadn’t got it yet.”

The couple said they were told highlights of the day would be ready October 2016, but only in February were they sent a web link to a selection of highlights - which wasn’t downloadable.

Then they were sent a DVD but say it only contains unedited footage of the speeches.

And after they say they were promised the video in March, in April the company told them because of the “lengthy process” of editing it had been put back to May.

But in September operations manager Stuart resorted to social media to vent his frustration - but says his post which was shared more than 300 times prompted the company to withhold the video completely.

He said: “They’ve given us excuses from having no dog-sitter to their mother being ill. It’s tainted the whole day”.

Marketing advisor Mariana added: “You think you’ll just give someone one more chance but they have to take some responsibility.”

The company did not respond to a request for comment.
