SOME of the cases recently heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court:

Nathan Girvan Riddett, 38, of Manley Road, Bursledon. Found guilty of speeding. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £620 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.

Kevin McDermott, 24, of Leigh Road, Wimbourne. Pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour. Community order made and ordered to pay £80 compensation and £40 costs.

Ashraf Olayan, 34, of Crescent Road, Bournemouth. Pleaded guilty to speeding. Fined £165 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with four points.

Aaron Samuel Biddlecombe, 41, of Pointout Close, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing £46.61 of plumbing items from B&Q. Committed to prison for 28 days and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.

Patrick Henry Close, 28, of Buckingham Avenue, West Moseley, Surrey. Pleaded guilty to having 40 tablets of ecstasy and possession of cannabis. Fined £500 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Sam Michael John Maclachlan, 34, of Southampton Street, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing a £159 coat from John Lewis. Discharged conditionally for two years and ordered to pay £159 compensation and £85 costs.

William John Mason, 30, of Adey Close, Sholing. Pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to court. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge.

Kevin Tony Lee McNeill, 45, of Alresford Road, Winchester. Pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and failing to surrender to court. Given a conditional discharge for two years, fined £350 and ordered to pay £35 victim surcharge.

Majid Javed Mirza, 37, of Derby Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and driving under the influence of drugs. Community order made and ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for two years.

Dennis Pring, 76, of New Road, Romsey. Pleaded guilty to drink driving. Fined £450 and ordered to pay £45 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Ionut Cathlin Tirzman, 27, of Hartington Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving while disqualified. Community order made and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for two years.

Thomas William Knowler, 34, of Merryoak Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 victim services and £40 costs.

Jack Ridley-Tomlin, 25, of Ringwood Road, Stoney Cross. Pleaded guilty to using homophobic threatening or abusive words or behaviour. Fined £166 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Rick Lee, 47, of Queen’s View, Netley Abbey. Pleaded guilty to failing to notify Eastleigh Borough Council of a change in entitlement to housing benefit. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Abul Hussain, 25, of Lewisham Road, Smethwick, Birmingham. Pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen. Fined £600 and ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for 28 months.

Dillon Michael Crawford, 20, of no fixed address. Pleaded guilty to stealing £68 worth of fragrance items from Boots and a £35.99 bottle of vodka. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £35.99 compensation and £20 victim surcharge.

Lee Semmence, 42, of Fryern Court Road, Burgate. Pleaded guilty to drink driving. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £40 victim services and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Vernon John Whitehouse, 52, of Canterbury Road, Margate, Kent. Pleaded guilty to stealing £117.11 of meat from Waitrose. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Mamadou Saidou Bah, 21, of Cranbury Avenue, Southampton. Admitted breach of supervision order. Curfew put in place between 8pm and 6am and ordered to pay £60 costs.

Andrew James Lightbody, 32, of Ramley Road, Weymouth. Admitted breach of supervision order. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £60 costs, with order to continue.

Darren George Moss, 29, of Cranbury Avenue, Southampton. Admitted breach of supervision order. Fined £50.
