IT IS set to be a spook-tacular event, with scores of residents expected to take on the course.

Monster Dash, a 3km inflatable obstacle course, will take over Mountbatten School on Sunday, October 29 for a day of Halloween celebrations.

Organised by local cancer charity Wessex Cancer Trust, the course includes eight immense inflatables for supporters to bounce over, squeeze through and slide down.

However, participants need to be careful as there will be Halloween horrors around every turn, organisers say.

Head of fundraising, Sofie Bennett, said: “We are so excited to see our supporters take on the giant slide, twisty tunnels and spooky mazes.

“The event is really family friendly so you can run, walk, jog or dance around the course.

“There will be prizes for the best fancy dress and each participant will receive a medal.”

“There is a serious side though as our six cancer support centres help around 8,000 people each year and we couldn’t do it without people raising money. So please come along, have fun, but raise as much money as you can.”

More than 200 people have already signed up from across the Wessex region for the event, sponsored by Winchester Motor Group.

Alongside the spooky fun there will be plenty of entertainment, merchandise stalls and Halloween refreshments on sale.

Ticket prices start from £20 for adults, £12 for children and family discounts are available.
