HALTON patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes are being offered practical help and support.

Free ‘diabetes essentials’ sessions are being held for adults who are registered with a Runcorn or Widnes GP.

The session only lasts two and a half hours and provides information about diabetes, the effect of high blood sugar on the body and how to manage diabetes.

It is delivered by a friendly NHS dietitian who is an expert on food and health.

The session is run regularly and there are morning, afternoon and evening sessions to choose from.

Sessions are held at Kingsway Learning Centre on Victoria Road, Widnes, Hough Green Health Park in Widnes and Castlefields Health Centre in Runcorn.

People can bring a family member or friend and if anyone needs more support after the session, further contacts will be available.
