POLICE are warning residents to be cautious following a telephone scam which targeted two Gosport residents.
In the first incident, a resident received a call from an individual stating they were a police officer from Greater Manchester police.
The second involved a caller who stated they were from the Inland Revenue and demanded payment of thousands of pounds, saying the police would visit the victim's home if it was not paid.
Police are advising anyone that has any concerns when answering the phone to either terminate the call or report the incident by phoning police on 101.
