HUNDREDS of punters flocked to a Hampshire shopping centre's first ever Prosecco festival.

The event saw groups of ladies, friends, couples and colleagues join together to party at the inaugural Port Solent’s event.

The evening offered guests 13 different types of Prosecco hosted by 17 bars and restaurants, with the opportunity for people to ‘pimp’ their drink into a cocktail or fancier tipple.

Lisa Fowler, events, marketing & centre administrator at Port Solent, said: “We are blown away by the success of our first Prosecco Festival.

"From the minute tickets were snapped up, there’s been a real buzz around it and I think that’s a testament to the popularity of Prosecco.

"Being able to bring Prosecco lovers from the region to Port Solent and put on such an entertaining event has been fantastic.

"Guests thoroughly enjoyed the live music and entertainment and certainly made the most of the hundreds of bottles of flowing bubbly.

"We’d like to thank all of our colleagues involved for working hard to make it happen and all of our guests for coming along – we hope everyone had a wonderful time."

Guests were also entertained with male stilt walkers, a red carpet lady and an aerial acrobat performer as well as vibrant entertainment including fire dancers, a Martini glass performer, Breeze FM’s photobooth taxi and magicians.
