A SOUTHAMPTON family have swapped lives with a rich couple who spend more on avocados than they do on school shoes.

Andy Leamon and wife Kim, along with kids Olivia, eight and Freddie, 10 from Thornhill in Southampton, swapped from their budget of £171 a week to a £1,500 budget as part of a 'reality' TV show.

Their fellow stars Matt and Monique Fiddes, from Royal Wotton Bassett in Wiltshire, live in a £1.5 million mansion set in 60 acres of land.

The swap was for Channel Five documentary Rich House, Poor House.

The lifestyle change left the Leamons in a state of shock, especially when they discovered the Fiddes spent more a week on avocados than they did on school shoes for 10-year-old son Freddie.

Andy works in an emergency response call centre for vulnerable elderly people while wife former health support worker Kim is registered disabled and walks with two crutches.

Meanwhile, Matthew Fiddes owns the UK's biggest Martial Arts school which more than 600 locations across the UK and Europe.

The couple have one year old Hero and four year old Zack and fork out £192 on their weekly food shop - nearly five times the Leamons' £40 spend on frozen food.

While tasting the luxury lifestyle, Andy meanwhile reflected on his dream of being a professional footballer before his hopes were crushed by injury.

Andy said: "It has been a life changing for us both physically and mentally.

"We got to spend so much more time as a family during our time on the show, I even got to drive a Bentley.

"It was so good to spend so much time in a peaceful and quiet area with fantastic scenery."

The programme airs at 9pm tonight (Thursday, October 19)
