VISIT Marwell Zoo this October half term for ‘Boo at the Zoo’.
Dress up in your best Halloween fancy dress costume and take part in their spook-tacular activities. Join the scary witch at 11am, 1pm and 3pm for some creepy storytelling in the Haunted Hall and get creative making your own magical wand (£1 fee applies) – new for 2017.
Wand-making sessions are 10.30am-4pm daily.
Back by popular demand, their resident wizard will be hosting his popular broomstick flying sessions, where children can earn their Level 2 flying licence. Find the wizard each day in the ‘flying arena’ on the front lawn.
Sessions last 20 minutes and are for a maximum of 20 guests – first come, first served!
Plus, stop by the Pumpkin Patch to design and carve your very own special pumpkin to take home (£3 fee applies).
What’s more, spend time with Marwell Zoo’s playful primates at ‘Lemur Loop’, a new walkthrough exhibit.
Critically endangered Alaotran gentle lemurs and black and white ruffed lemurs, endangered crowned lemurs and ring-tailed lemurs are joined in the exhibit by a new species for Marwell – an endangered green peafowl.
Explore the environment of these enticing animals in their new home which focuses on the evolution of lemurs. With a beautiful landscaped setting, both indoors and out, the new lemur exhibit promises a truly immersive experience. The zoo’s knowledgeable staff will also be on hand to help guests learn all about these wonderful animals.
