DAILY Echo columnist Stacey Heale will be speaking at the Touch Network Evening on Wednesday, October 25.

Stacey Heale, from Bitterne, Southampton, is a carer, mother, partner, academic, and campaigner.

She is also the partner of city rock group Delays’ frontman and artist, Greg Gilbert.

Following his diagnosis in November 2016 with bowel cancer it has been a very public experience, partly because she launched a crowdfunding campaign, #Give4Greg, to raise money for lifesaving treatment for him, but one that has always been positive and inspiring.

Stacey’s column, Postcards from the Storm, was launched last week in the Daily Echo’s Tuesday Lifestyle supplement.

She also recently set up her own blog, Beneath the Weather, as ‘a place to discuss hard stuff that happens to humans’, allowing stories that don’t often get told their space to be heard.

The Touch Network provides a forum for people to talk about the experiences and issues they’ve dealt with and to inspire others.

The event will take place from 7pm at Mettricks Old Town in Southampton.

Tickets are £10. For more information, visit: sotospeakfestival.org/event/touch-network/
