A STAFF member at a Hampshire charity centre has launched a crowdfunding campaign to save the life of a much loved horse.

Mr Sin, a 22-year old black cob has been working at the Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre in Colden Common, near Eastleigh, for the past 15 years.

He suffers from chronic lung disease, which means he often has difficulty breathing, requiring regular veterinary treatment and close monitoring.

An increase in the pollen count led Mr Sin to develop colic which needed immediate attention, resulting in a £700 emergency vet bill.

The centre, which provides tuition and therapy to adults and children with a variety of special needs and disabilities was badly flooded in 2013 and extensive repair work has severely restricted the centre’s finances, forcing them to turn to crowdfunding to raise the cash for Mr Sin’s treatment.

Staff member Abbie Cook, who created the JustGiving page, said: “He is a true gentleman, absolutely adores his cuddles and pampering, and has been a real confidence giver for many of our clients, able and disabled, over the years.

“This horse has given so many people the confidence to fulfil their dreams and aspirations and now the tables have turned and he needs our help!

“Your kind gestures and support will allow the charity to continue forward in getting Sin the care he needs. He is a huge asset to the centre and has given us so much. Any donation, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciated for this one in a million horse!”

So far the appeal has raised £370 of its £700 target.
