CHILDREN have made a unique remembrance garden at Runcorn Shopping City to pay tribute to fallen war heroes.
Marketing manager Claire Wooltorton said: “We asked local schools from around Halton to make as many poppies as possible for us to create a flowing river of poppies in the main square.
“The schools really got behind this event and we were inundated with over 6,000 poppies. It has made an outstanding exhibition.”
Members of the public are welcome to visit the display and buy a poppy from the Royal British Legion.
Schools taking part included Bridgewater Park, Beechwood, Fairfield, Palacefields, Brookfields, St Martin’s, St Gerard’s, Hallwood Park, Chesnut Lodge and The Grange.
The poppy river will be on show until November 11.
