THE PEOPLE of the borough, no matter what age, will be gathering in churches and at war memorials across north Hampshire to remember those who have given their lives for their country.

Here is a list of the services and parades taking place across the borough this coming weekend. Have we missed one? Let us know at newsdesk@basingstokegazette.co.uk and we will add it to the list.

Basingstoke: The mayor’s service will be taking place on Sunday 12 November at the Basingstoke’s war memorial outside the Civic Offices in London Road. The Mayor’s party will parade at 10:45am, followed by a flypast from RAF Odiham will precede the Last Post and Exhortation, with the two minutes silence at 11am.

As in previous years, there will be a temporary road closure order in place to allow the parade to march safely down New Road and London Road to the war memorial; and then from the war memorial onto London Road, New Road and into the War Memorial Park via the entrance near the bandstand.

The traffic will also be stopped in London Road at 11am for the two minutes' silence. The temporary road closures will take place between 10.30am and 12 noon for approximately 15 minutes at a time.

Chineham: A remembrance service will be taking place at Christ Church, in Reading Road at 9am and 10:30am on November 12.

Kempshott: On Sunday 12 November at 10am, Saint Mark’s Church in Homesteads Road will be hosting their remembrance service.

Hatch Warren: Immanual Church in Danebury Road will be having its remembrance service from 10am-11am on Sunday 12 November.

Old Basing: The parish service of remembrance will be taking place at St Mary’s Church, with wreaths being laid at the war memorial at 10am, with Holy Communion following immediately afterwards in the Bolton chapel at 11:15am. Meeting in Crown Lane Hall at 9:15am for the parade.

Odiham: A remembrance service will be taking place at 10:50am at All Saints Church in The Bury.

Whitchurch: On Sunday 12 November, wreaths will be laid at the war memorials, and services will be held at All Hallows Church, starting at 10:20am.

Overton: Gathering at 10:20am in Sprents Lane on November 12, the parade will be marching off at 10:35am, going down Sprents Lane, Winchester Street, Kingsclere Road, and Church Road.) Wreaths will be laid at the war memorial outside St Mary’s Church at 10:50am before the two minutes silence at 11am. There will then be a service of remembrance at the church at 11:05am.

Tadley: Remembrance Sunday service on November 12. 10.30am assemble for parade, 10.45am parade leaves Heath End Village Hall, 11am service at War Memorial and laying of wreaths. Then at St Paul’s on The Green. 2.30pm assemble at Tadley Primary School, 2.50pm parade departs Tadley Primary School, 3pm service at St Paul’s Church followed by laying of wreaths at The War Memorial. Tea and coffee will be available after each of the above services.

Baughurst: The Remembrance Sunday Parade on Sunday, 12 November will start at 10.30am at Heath End Village Hall, at 10.45am the parade will leave the hall and at 11am there will be a service at the War Memorial with laying of wreaths. Tea and coffee will be available after the service.

Bramley: On Sunday, 12 November, the Remembrance Service will be held in St James' Church at 10.30am.

Sherfield: Remembrance Service on Sunday, 12 November at the War Memorial at 10.45am. There will be coffee afterwards at the Liddell Hall. Please remember that part of the Old Reading Road will be closed for part of the morning, due to the service.

Dummer: Sunday, 12 November, the Remembrance Service with the Royal British Legion will be held at Dummer Church.
