AN URGENT appeal has been launched after two dogs were rescued from their home which housed 90 animals.

Both Jack Russel terriers, they have been in the care of the RSPCA after being taken from their previous home which had almost 100 dogs.

The welfare charity has issued an urgent plea as they have been left at Stubbington Ark Animal Shelter for almost a year.

The pair are seeking a second chance of happiness and need a loving home where the duo can remain together.

Hannah Nandhra, their primary handler at the Stubbington Ark, said: “Coming from a property of 90 dogs, these lads have not had the best start in life, but have come so far in the 11 months they have been with us.

“They are both real characters and will be very rewarding for whoever takes them under their wing.

“They both suffer with separation anxiety and need an owner who has had experience dealing with separation problems in the past and need someone with plenty of patience.

“Ted still struggles with new people and takes several weeks to pluck up the courage to make friends.”

The two dogs are around two-years-old, and cannot live with cats, but can with other dogs and need to be in a home where there are no young children.

Hannah added: “Ted and Fido are also very attached to each other, so they do need to go together - one loses weight and gets tummy troubles if the other is taken away from him.”

Animal centre manager Stephanie Cziczo said the two dogs desperately deserve the chance for a happy home after spending around half of their life in the care of the charity following their time in the overcrowded home.

Stephanie said: “We know there is the perfect person out there somewhere and really hope they can help give Ted and Fido the second chance they so desperately deserve.”

Anyone who thinks they could offer a loving home to Ted and Fido is asked to contact the RSPCA on their rehoming page online at www.rspca.org.uk/findapet.
