A CARD shop with a difference is opening in Southampton.

Cards for Good Causes has got the festive season underway with a pop-up shop in Barclays in Above Bar.

Now they are also looking for a team of volunteers to come and help man the shop in the run up to Christmas.

Judith O’Sullivan, regional manager, said: “Just three hours a week will make a real difference to the charities involved. Giving you time and being part of a new team will be very rewarding in a friendly environment. Buying charity Christmas cards is one of the simplest ways to support good causes this festive season and we stock one of the widest ranges of Christmas cards anywhere. What is more, a higher proportion of the proceeds go to the charity compared to buying charity Christmas cards through most high street retailers, meaning a greater contribution to their vital work”

Charities supported with the sale of a cards this year include Cancer Research UK, Barnardo’s, NSPCC, Alzheimer’s Society and RNLI and the Southampton Hospital Charity.

The shop will be open for business at Barclays on Monday to Saturday from 10am until December 16.
