A CHARITY which provides support for children and families in Hampshire has been shortlisted for four national awards.
Safe Families for Children works with both Hampshire County and Southampton City councils to prevent problems, which might case children to enter care, from escalating.
The charity has now been recognised for its work with nominations for the Children and Young People Now Family Support Award, the 3rd Sector Care Awards Community Engagement Award, Innovative Quality Outcomes Award, and the Centre for Social Justice Family Support Award.
Keith Danby, the charity’s chief executive, said: “It’s an enormous honour to be shortlisted for these awards. It’s an indication of the work we at Safe Families are passionate about – creating better outcomes for children and families in crisis across England.
“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the thousands of volunteers who have come forward and who provide so much hope and support to overwhelmed families.”
Safe Families has already supported more than 1,700 families and benefitted more than 4,200 children using its network of over 3,500 volunteers.
