THE search in on to find the owner of a hoard of Christmas cards and presents which has been found at a motorway service station.

A carrier bag of festive goodies with fond messages from an uncle and aunt were left at Rownhams on the M27.

They were found by bedroom designer Sian Wood this morning after she stopped to do some work.

Now the designer who was early for an appointment in Rownhams has launched an appeal to get them back to their rightful owners.

Ms Woods, 55, was on her way from an appointment in the New Forest to her next job when she spotted the bag in a car parking space on the east bound service station.

Realising that someone must have left them there by accident she tried to hand them in to lost property but couldn’t find a member of staff to look after the gifts.

So she stayed at the door for an hour and a half on the off chance that someone came back from them.

She said: “I’ve just got such a terrible imagination. I imagined a couple of lovely old pensioners who have scrimped and saved arriving somewhere without their presents and someone called Jack who’s expecting to get a little present and he won’t get it. But the names are quite unusual so hopefully we’ll be able to find them”.
