A MAN has been charged as part of an investigation into a series of robberies alleged to have taken place in Southampton, Eastleigh and Rownhams.
As reported in the Daily Echo, police launched a hunt for a group of men following eight robberies in ten days.
The men carried knives, hammers, poles or planks of wood, and threatened staff before stealing money.
Dean Robert Higham, 54, of Anson Drive, Southampton, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of a Class A drug, and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 4.
An 18-year-old man from London, who was also arrested just before 3am on Friday morning, has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
Officers continue to appeal to the public for any information relating to this investigation.
