Farmer died after 'years of asbestos exposure'
A HAMPSHIRE man died from asbestos exposure after years working as a pig farmer, an inquest heard.
Robert Seymour from Ringwood inhaled the dust while building pig stys and roofs between 1958 and 1988 and later developed malignant mesothelioma.
The 91-year-old died at his home at Hightown Common on August 13.
Winchester Coroner’s Court heard that Mr Seymour had served in the Navy for two years before working on his parents farm, eventually working as a pig farmer on his own land.
Central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short recorded a conclusion of industrial disease.
