A TEAM of dedicated students grabbed their overall to help clean up the streets in Bassett in Southampton.
Pupils from Cantell School, in Violet Road, worked with staff at Burgess Road McDonalds to clean the streets.
It operates as part of ‘Bennett’s Community Crew’ - a team made up of employees from the restaurant franchise across the south and named after the franchise owner Tony Bennett.
The group carries out any tasks from litter picking to garden clean ups, to painting and decorating.
Sarah-Jane Finch, people and environment manager for the restaurant franchise, said: “The children were fantastic and genuinely had a great time helping us to collect litter along Burgess Road.
“They were very completive, one of the teams of two refused to change their bag until the end as they wanted to see how much they could collect.”
She added: “Over the morning litter pick at the railway station clearing the approach paths and bushes and the afternoon litter pick in Burgess Road, we managed to collect over 20 bags of litter along with a shopping trolley.”
