EMERGENCY services rushed to help a man after he became stuck in mud.
The man was spotted near Haslar Lake, Gosport, at around 9.30am today.
Several witnesses reported the incident, after growing concerned for the man's welfare.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were all dispatched to Mariner's Way, Gosport.
The coastguard also attended, sending one rescue crew from Hillhead and another from Portsmouth.
Fire crews from Fareham, Gosport and Cosham all attended, bringing specialist rescue vehicles such as a Landrover.
However the man, who is believed to have suffered a mental health episode, managed to free himself before they arrived.
